Nathan Bishop Band to Showcase at NXNE!

Toronto – May 8, 2012 – Uptown Underground is pleased to announce that the Nathan Bishop Band has been selected to showcase at the 2012 North By North East (NXNE) Conference and Festival. The band will take the stage at 8pm at Toronto’s famous Cameron House located at 408 Queen Street West (at Spadina).

“We’re very excited to be showcasing at NXNE and are definitely going to bring our A-game and leave it all on the stage,” said Bishop.

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, Nathan Bishop released his debut solo effort, “Lovers, Leavers and Believers” which hit #15 on the Canadian itunes Charts on the first day of its release in June 2011. The artist was born and raised in Cape Breton Island and fronted a popular band in Ottawa before moving to the Big Smoke to take his music career to the next level. Spoken word poet Ritallin and Mississauga Arts Council's Program Coordinator Heather Brissenden were proud to appear on Rogers Daytime TV to promote the launch of the Mississauga Youth Writers' Guild in February 2012. The Writers' Guild is a new program presented as part of the Mississauga Arts Council's Limelight Association of Young Artists. Headed by leading spoken-word artist and member of MAC's Limelight Association of Young Artists, Matt "Lip Balm" Miller, the Guild welcomes writers under the age of 30 to join. Nathan Bishop Songs to be "Unleashed" in Movie

Uptown Underground is proud to announce that two of Nathan Bishop's songs will be used in the feature fim, "the Unleashed" being released this summer.  The Canadian feature film was scored by Toronto Composer Dave Klots of nspaas Publishing.
